My Mission
As a Building Consultant, I am committed to bringing all my years of experience, and continuing education regarding home construction practices, to bear, in assisting the home or building owner with their concerns about their structures.
Business & Inspection Experience
I have been designing and building residential structures for over 33 years.
Previous to becoming a Home Inspector in 2004, I was a “hands-on” general contractor and I was actively involved in all aspects of residential construction. As a designer and a builder, I had to keep up-to-date in all the trades involved in this work: foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, siding, roofing etc. My specialties have been kitchen design, second story additions, whole house remodels, and new passive solar houses—-including composting toilets and wood foundations.
I served 6 years (2012-2018) on the Home Inspector Licensing Advisory Board of the State of Washington.
I was also on the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) technical review committee at the National level and served as chair of the committee twice.
I am a Graduate of Bellingham Technical College, Bellingham, Wa., Residential Home Inspection Course (160 hours), and I am currently an instructor with this program. This course is approved by the State of Washington for Home Inspector Education as preparation for new inspector licensing.
I was a Member of ASHI, (American Society of Home Inspectors), 15 years, now retired
I was a Licensed Washington State Home Inspector for 18 years, now retired
I was a Licensed Structural Pest Inspector, 18 years, now retired
Formerly Level I Thermographer, ITC Certified, and still an important tool in my work.
