Choosing a Home Inspector in Washington State

As of September 1, 2009 Home Inspectors in Washington State are required to be Licensed.
A Licensed Home Inspector has met the State Requirements for Licensure, which includes education, passing the National Home Inspector Examination (including a State specific component), and has met continuing education requirements. We must also adhere to a Code of Ethics, and to a Standards of Practice when performing the inspection. Whatever inspector you ultimately choose you should verify that they are “currently” licensed with the State of Washington.

My Mission

As a Seattle Home Inspector, I am committed to bringing all my years of experience, as well as my continuing education regarding home construction practices, to bear, in assisting the Home Buyer/Seller with their Home purchase/sale. It is my intention that the Home Buyer/Seller have an accurate, "snap-shot" of the major components of the Home, thus assisting them in making an informed decision. While based in Seattle/Shoreline WA, I inspect homes all over Western Washington State, including King County, Snohomish County and sometimes even Pierce County. Some of the cities I commonly get to are Everett, Lynnwood, Bothel, Kenmore, Kent, SeaTac, Bellevue, Kirkland----and many others. Company Profile

I have been designing and building residential structures for over 35 years. As a "hands-on" general contractor I have been actively involved in all aspects of residential construction. As a designer and a builder, I have had to keep up-to-date in all the trades involved in this work: foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, siding, and roofing. My specialties have been kitchen design, second story additions, whole house remodels, and new passive solar houses.

I am a Member of ASHI, (American Society of Home Inspectors), Member #246514.

I am a Graduate of Bellingham Technical College, Bellingham, Wa., Residential Home Inspection Course (160 hours), and I am currently an instructor with this program which has expanded to other technical college facilities throughout Washington State. This course is currently approved by the State of Washington for Home Inspector Education.

I have passed the NHIE (National Home Inspectors Exam). This exam is currently the test used to meet licensing requirements in the State of Washington and many other states as well. It is also required by some Home Inspection Association's membership requirements.
