I believe most inspectors would like to do a more in depth inspection going beyond our licensed expectations. With a 30 year background of home construction from buying land and building homes to complete gut jobs, I know there is more going on than we are showing in our inspections. Truth is if we performed the way I feel we should which would definately go beyond the standards of the industry and licensed expectations, we would all starve, as the time and cost involved just does not fit for probably 95% of clients, home owners, realtors.
Lou, for me, I price my inspections according to what I have to get to do the job. I do not price my inspections based on what I think will fit anyone’s time line or ability to pay. The cost of the inspection is literally nothing in relation to what the client is getting themselves into financially.
