A better question might have been, “What was my dad doing in the attic?”
One of the cool things about inspecting older houses is that, we often come across hidden and forgotten things —-tucked away in the nooks and crannies of attics, ductwork or crawl spaces.
A while back I came across some “magazines” from the year 1945. Now I don’t like to think of 1945 as very long ago but my kids would probably argue otherwise. I was born in 1947, which meant that the girls in that magazine could have actually been my mother!

It got me thinking, (Did you ever notice how little control you have over what you think?) what if one did open a magazine like that and actually did see pictures of one’s mother?
It boggles the mind.
Some things don’t change much from one generation to the next—-except perhaps how much is left to the imagination. Given that so many men had just gotten back from the long war over seas, that there were a lot of willing women and that there had been incredible advances in photographic reproduction—-it is no wonder that I personally became an integral part of another type of reproduction—-the Baby Boomers!
Some solace could be gained from her at least being in her underwear.
